I’ve been using the foam roller for many years and have used it for personal training clients with great success.
For some reason, we never incorporated it into our group setting.
So we’ve officially added a foam roller protocol into our group classes, and it seems to be a hit with most of our members.
Many trainers/clients also like to target the specific areas in question by using a tennis ball, and if they’re really masochistic, they’ll roll on a lacrosse ball.
He’s a cool idea that I picked up from a Marine that came to our last kettlebell cert from Quanico, Va.
I’ve made a few of these for myself and for my high school athletes to try out.
Two tennis balls + athletic tape= 1 peanut
You can roll with this thing (peanut) on the wall, or the floor. It feels great going up and down your spine.
