Training Room “Warrior Challenge” Results and a Sick Video Clip!

What an incredible day we had yesterday!

We raised over $10,000 for Task Force Dagger Fund.

I will be posting footage from the event each day as I go through it.

As usual, all of our Training Room participants kicked ass!

Congrats to Training Room members, Bryan Morgan and Erin Brinew for placing first in the male and female categories!!

At the end of the event, we arranged for a Black Hawk Helicopter to land on Avon Beach.

A Special Forces Team from Fort Bragg, NC jumped out of the air craft.

Kettlebell and Body Weight Team Relay Challenge!

Start putting your teams together!

This event will be going down on Sunday, August 15 at 9am.

Here are the events for 5 person teams!

You must finish one event before your teammate starts the next.

You can switch use as many hand switches as you want for all kettlebell events.

Here is the order of events.

  1. One mile run (to the beach and back)
  2. 100 Burpees (chest must hit the ab mat).
  3. 100 pull ups (kipping is allowed)
  4. 100 Kettlebell jerks or push presses (men use 24kgs, women use 16kgs)
  5. 100 Kettlebell Snatches (men use 24kg’s and women use 16 kgs)
  6. Team farmer walk ( 0ne mile with your kettlebells). If the majority of your teammates are female, you will use 16kgs. If the majority of your team are male, you will use 24′s).

Following the event will be a BBQ in the famous Court Yard of Crush.

Cost of the event will be $25 per person.

Intro to Basic Kettlebell and Body Weight Training

We will be holding an intro class Saturday, August 7  from 9-10:30.

Due to high demand,  we’ve decided to run this class for those of you who want to break into our training.

We will be covering the basic kettlebell and body weight skills needed to train with us in a group setting.

The cost of this class will be a very reasonable $40.

If  you decide to join the monthly madness we will apply this $40 to your first month of training.

Our first kettlebell certification was a tremendous success!

The Milkman and I worked our asses off to deliver a ton of content to 20 eager coaches.

Training Room Summer Events

If you’re looking for some fun events to compete in rather then just running some boring 5k race, you may want to check out some of the things we have planned.

First off, The Warrior Challenge is July 17th.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here to read about it.

We raised about $7,000 for the Special Ops Warrior Foundation last year.

Next, The Milkman and I are masterminding the Jersey Shore Kettlebell/Body Weight Team Relays.

This will be a fun competition for anyone who wants to join.

Our friends Pamela and Jason of Kettlebell Athletics will be joining us for this friendly competition which will be followed up by a court yard BBQ and possibly a jump in the ocean.

We’re not unveiling the complete details yet, but let’s just say that the event will consist of 5 person teams and be done relay style.

Hints!

  • Make sure one of your teammates can run fast
  • Make sure one of your teammates can do lots of kettlebell snatches
  • Make sure one of your teammates can do lots of burpees quickly
  • Make sure one of your teammates can do lots of kettlebell jerks
  • Make sure one of your teammates is a pull up master
  • Make sure all of you are good at walking or running with kettlebells……oh no, not again!!!

This event is August 15.

Try this 25 minute workout three ways!

Give this a try and let me know how you do.

Variation #1:

Do the following movements on the 5 minute mark for 5 rounds

  • 5 tire flips
  • 10 double kettlebell jerks
  • 15 box jumps
  • 20 kipping pull ups (or ring rows)

Variation #2:

Get as many rounds as you can in 25 minutes of the above movements.

Variation #3:

Do 5 rounds of the above as fast as possible.

Avon Kettlebell 5k Video Footage
