Eccentrics Concentrics and Isometrics

Thursday is a strength day and we’re using fancy words such as eccentrics, concentrics and isometrics!

If you had some physiology classes, you may be familiar with the terminology, but it’s not important!

What IS important is that you show up!

Just like ALL of our sessions, this one can be adjusted to all levels…
Seriously, you don’t need to throw around the fancy fitness terminology to impress people.
We DO know a ton of fancy terms, but we choose to focus on not confusing people and giving them effective training that works!

If you want to know the technical terminology, go here!

Otherwise, enjoy this training session!

Layman’s terms!
We will push and pull (moving) through each movement (eccentrics and concentrics) for 30 seconds and then hold an isometric for 30 seconds.
If you feel that the 30 second hold is too much, then shake it out and use the remainder of the time for recovery.
Do 4 rounds of the strength circuit.

Here are the movements…

  • Pull-up or ring-row
  • Squat, split squat etc..(hold at 90)
  • Press (hold overhead or in the rack)
  • Lec curl (suspended etc) Hip bridge, superman
  • Abs (hollow holds etc)

Finisher to be named.

Have a great Thursday!

Here’s one from 9 years ago that you may get a kick out of!
