The Training Room Fitness Retreat 2025

Nosara, Costa Rica

Dream Becomes Reality

It has always been a dream of ours to host our own fitness retreat, and we just made it a reality!

In January, The Training Room held their very first fitness retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica.

This blog post is meant to be both informative (for those who may be interested in our next trip) and reflective for those who went on this excursion.

Please feel free to post a comment on the bottom of this page!

The video above will give you a brief look at some of things that went on that week.

Our Vision

Our vision was to create an expereince that included daily “Training Room style” workouts, healthy meals, fun activities with plenty of time to relax, meet new friends and soak up the beauty and culture of Nosara.

Travel

We flew United Airlnes direct from Newark into Liberia, CR (about a 5 hour flight). United flight 1876 left from Newark at 7:18 AM got us to Liberia at 11:44 AM (Costa Rica is 1 hour behind us).

The ride from Liberia to the retreat venue in Nosara takes between 2.5 to 3 hours (barring any traffic or stops along the way) which was included as part of the retreat package.

The Ride from Liberia Airport

The roads are bit challenging to say the least, but well worth the prize at the end!

Some of us went to the beach, hung by the pool, played pickle ball (facility down the hill from our house), went into town or even headed over to the Bohdi Tree Yoga Resort.

The Bohdi Tree is a world renown yoga resort that also has an amazing spa and restaurant.

Each member from our group was provided with a $40 gift card to be applied for any of the Bohdi Tree’s many services.

Playa Guiones was our spot! We rented a tent and some chairs from the Sendero for the day. This was also a great spot to surf, which Jim and Mike did. There are several board rentals close by as well as surf schools if you wanted lessons.

Catamaran Cruise

We boarded The Pacific Dream on Tuesday afternoon. Our host was Juri.

Both Juri and his team provided us incredible service while we cruised along the coast of Nosara, stopping to check out some sea life and for a quick dip in the Pacific.
